Patient Info
Mr Minas performs a wide variety of gynaecological diagnostic tests and procedures including office-based procedures such as ultrasound examination of the pelvis, smear test, insertion of contraceptive devices. He is specialised in advanced endoscopic (keyhole - laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery.

Keyhole surgery is considered today the gold-standard method for the treatment of several gynaecological conditions, which require an operation. These include problems of the ovaries (for example ovarian cysts), the uterus (fibroids, polyps, heavy periods), the pelvis (endometriosis, adhesions).
Keyhole surgery offers quicker recovery, less bleeding, lower risk of developing blood clots in the legs or the lungs (thrombo-embolism) and causes less pain than open surgery. Due to the minimally invasive approach patients are often able to return home the same day of the procedure.
Time to full recovery and return to work can vary depending on the length and extent of the procedure performed, but usually spans from 2-6 weeks. Similarly, the period you will not be able to drive for can vary and you should run this past your car insurance company.
